Whether engaged in more traditional psychotherapy or coaching we tend to meet with clients in person at our Lake Barrington office. However we will conduct sessions by the phone.
Therapy & Coaching Fees
Psychotherapy services are generally eligible expenses for reimbursement from medical flex-spending accounts. Payment is expected at the time of service. Credit and debit card payments are accepted and kept on file.
Insurance
Previously, we had been on some insurance panels, however, we moved away from participation in some managed care and other third party payer relationships. By moving to a fee-for-service practice, we are able to base treatment on the needs of the clients, and not the financial wishes of the insurance companies. In addition, we are concerned about confidentiality issues when it comes to third party payers. All insurance companies require some degree of personal information to process a claim. Some require a great deal of clinical detail before authorizing sessions or payment, which is then recorded forever in their computers. Once the information is provided, individuals can lose control of who has access to the information. Fee for service arrangements are the only way we can assure confidentiality and ensure that treatment is not impacted by the insurance companies.
We do know that some people will still choose to access their insurance. If this is the case, we will assist you with submitting your insurance claim form.
Coaching, mediation and divorce services are not eligible for insurance reimbursement.
